Born in Graz in 1968, grew up in Tyrol.
He studied commercial sciences at WU Vienna and at French partner universities (ESSCA, HEC).
Doctorate with dissertation on competition-oriented regulation of the e-economy.
1993-95 EU and energy expert at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. In 1996 he worked at ING Bank in the field of international project financing, in 1997 he moved to Brussels to the European Commission, Directorate General Energy, responsible for the implementation and further development of the EU internal electricity market directives. From 1999-2004, he was a member of the cabinet of EU Commissioner Dr. Franz Fischler, where he was primarily responsible for economic policy and competition law agendas.
Since April 2004, he has been Head of Section for Economic Policy, Innovation and Technology at the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy.
